Qantas has once again dropped the price of their flights from Edmonton to cities in Australia, this time down to between $651 and $672 CAD roundtrip including taxes!
This is a new record for the cheapest roundtrip flights from Edmonton to Australia.
Update @ 9:15 PM MST - Qantas is now showing a few flights from Edmonton to Sydney in January for $585 CAD roundtrip including taxes!! (see update below)
You can also turn these into 2-in-1 trips and visit both Australia and San Francisco (or Los Angeles), for about the same price (instructions below).
You can also look at flying into one Australian city, but home from another, for about the same price (instructions below).
You can also find flights from Edmonton to a few other places in Australia and New Zealand (Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Christchurch) for a lot less than their usual price... ($768 to $876 roundtrip). Instructions below.

Google Flights: Edmonton to Brisbane, Australia (BNE)
^^^ look for the dates that are $710 roundtrip in March, May, August, September, October
Google Flights: Edmonton to Melbourne, Australia (MEL)
^^^ look for the dates that are $696 roundtrip in January (very limited), February (very limited), late March, April, early May (very limited), August, September, October
- click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations
- look for the dates that are somewhere between $696 and $713 roundtrip.
2. Go to Skyscanner or Flighthub or Kayak
- search for a flight from Edmonton (YEG) to...
Sydney (SYD)
or
Brisbane (BNE)
or
Melbourne (MEL)
- use the same dates you found on Google Flights
- the price on Skyscanner or Flighthub will usually be around $75 to $150 cheaper than what you see on Google Flights.

Try one of the following date combinations:

1. First, try finding a normal roundtrip flight to Australia, using the Google Flights links above.
For example, let's say you found a flight from Edmonton (YEG) to Sydney (SYD), from Apr 17 to Apr 30.
2. Now go to Flighthub or Kayak
- Change the search type from 'Roundtrip' to 'Multi City'
3. Search for a flight like this one:
Edmonton (YEG) to Sydney (SYD)
Sydney (SYD) to San Francisco (SFO)
San Francisco (SFO) to Edmonton (YEG)
- For the first and last legs of the journey, use the dates from the normal roundtrip flight that you found on Google Flights.
